Don't be Afraid of Femininity

I want to make this perfectly clear.
Obvious.
No if’s, and’s, and/or but’s.
Set it in stone.
End of discussion. Period.

Being feminine is not something to be ashamed of nor is it something detrimental to your character. Apparently a lot of guys associate being feminine as being weak and that’s why they feel the need to be masculine and assert dominance.

Basically they took a group of guys and had some braid hair (a “feminine” task) and others braid rope (a gender neutral task). Then they got to choose between solving a puzzle or hitting a punching bag. Those who had to braid hair were much more likely to hit the punching bag versus those who braided the rope.

Another test was given in which half the group braided hair and the other half the rope only this time both got to hit the punching bag. Those who braided the hair hit the bag much harder.

A third test was given where all the guys braided hair and then half got to punch the bag and half didn’t. Those who didn't showed acute signs of anxiety and distress.

Anxiety is no joke. Remember in Iron Man 3 when Tony Stark is talking to Harvey and he has an anxiety attack and he thought he had been poisoned?

From personal experience I know anxiety basically makes you feel like you’re dying. Your skin is crawling, your chest tightens up, your body tremors, it’s hard to breathe, and your heart and mind are racing a thousand miles an hour.

Is having your “manhood” or whatever the hell you want to call that stupid Y chromosome you have taken away for 20 minutes really that bad? Is it bad enough to have mental effects on your body?

The only thing separating men and women is our genetics: XX or XY. That’s it. Are these mind frames of having to be masculine something biological or is it taught?

I think it’s taught. All of these feminine and masculine things are made up by someone millions of years ago. One day someone said “PINK = GIRL” And on another day “GIRL = WEAK” And on the final day “GUY ≠ MASCULINE = WEAK”

Femininity does not equal weak. It isn’t something to be afraid of or something to avoid. It’s something that some guy sat down and made up one day and it turned into a global phenomenon. Like unicorns or Sasquatch or god or something.

Colors and clothes and activities are not what make you a man or woman so who cares if you participate in the market of one that isn’t on your side of the venn diagram? I don’t care if you braid hair every night and like wearing tutus. You can still be a “man” if you contribute to society, take care of yourself and your family, and aren’t a total asshole.
