NFL Team in London?

In America, football is part of our culture; every Sunday during the months of September through late December many families sit around their TV’s and watch their favorite teams. The love for football is not just for men and their sons, but also for a wife and daughter. Football is an entire family sport, although men are the only people that play the sport professionally their families play a big role in their decisions throughout their career.

The NFL is for the enjoyment of the fans, but it is also a business within each team. Players on each team are not playing the sport only for enjoyment but for the money as well. The league all comes down to money and also popularity. Every team does different things in order to make more money whether it is trading away a player that they are paying a lot of money to do nothing, or it also could be trading for a big name player to draw more fans to come and enjoy the games at the field. Now the commissioner wants to take making money and making the sport a little more popular a whole new step, he wants to make a new football team that would be based out of London, England.

  All the players in the National Football League understand that it is still a business and do not overreact when they are traded or something happens to them along those lines. However, many players disagree with the commissioner on the idea of a team in London for many different reasons. Some players say they would not want to be signed by a team based out of London for many different reasons. For example, many players in the NFL have a wife and kids and they would not want to play for a team that from London. Also, some players say they would not want to because of the flying aspect. The team would have about an eight hour plane ride each week that they play in America, let alone the time difference between the United States and London.

All the players on that team would not play to their full potentials every weak because of how tired they would be every week. Although, Roger Goodell really wants to make this team happen because he wants to make the NFL not just a league that is played in America but throughout the world. Players also would want to be paid more than they already are to if they are going to be expected to play for a team that is about an eight hour plane ride.  Moreover, players also say they do not believe that if they were to have a team in London that the team would not be good due to the fact that not many players would want to play on the team based out of the country, causing the team to not have as many opportunities to pick up players off of free agency or in a trade. All in all, I do not agree with the idea of putting a football team in London.
